Jamie Oliver : Italian Dinner Menu

by Ruthie on February 20, 2008

I would love to share the latest family celebration menu we have just had! My brother is a huge Jamie Oliver fan so I threw him a Jamie Oliver Italian Dinner! This menu serves 8.

Jamie Oliver - Jamie’s Italy Book
Starter: Tomato & Basil Bruschette page 7
Main: Spaghetti Trapani Style page 121
Dessert: Easy Tiramisu page 303
Tea, Coffee & biscotti
Preparation Tips: Prepare Tiramisu, spaghetti sauce and bruschette topping in the morning. Cook spaghetti and prepare bread before serving.

Needless to say it was a wonderful dinner. Easy to prepare and punched with flavor! I love Jamie’s cooking for this reason - simple recipes, quick and tasty! I was able to enjoy entertaining and not slaving in the kitchen! I will definitely be trying out more recipes from this book :)

20 - 5 Day Meal Plans

by Ruthie on February 12, 2008

aaa-miab-boook-flowers.jpg

Are you meal planning with Menu In A Box yet?
Menu In A Box has helped numerous families organize their dinner times from chaos to calm and from unhealthy to healthy!

To get started here are some tips….
Organize your pantry as outlined on page 5.
When this is done you will set up your pantry for dinner time success for the next 100 dinners
Shopping is usually only for fresh ingredients and a few other items.
(My goal every week is to spend as little time in the supermarket as possible)

Place your 5 day weekly menu on the fridge
If you are late from work other family members can pitch in
If you are super organized you can prepare for the next nights dinner to save you time

Print off your next weeks shopping list and keep it on the fridge
Add ingredients as you remember

Get the kids involved
Let them pick a night they can be in charge of
They can be creative when they set up the table
Let them select some dinner music and even have candles
Give them heaps of praise for all their efforts

Get your family back to the dinner table with as little stress as possible :)
