This recipe is an old family favorite passed down from my husband’s Grandma! A vintage favorite recipe that is very economical, quick and easy! My kind of recipe! It is absolutely delicious and will no doubt become a favorite dinner in your house as well. This recipe is also perfect for a make ahead picnic, bbq or plate to share at your next gathering with friends! Enjoy.

Ingredients : Easy Egg & Bacon Pie Recipe

2 sheets puff pastry
1 packet sausages
2 bacon rashers
3 eggs
pepper

Method : Easy Egg & Bacon Pie Recipe

  • Line a sandwich cake tin with one sheet of pastry (to cover sides as well as bottom of tin).
  • Remove the sausage meat from the sausage skins, and fill the lined cake tin.
  • Cut bacon into small pieces and place on top of the sausage meat.
  • Break the eggs onto the sausage and bacon and mix around with a fork slightly.
  • Add pepper to taste.
  • Cover the pie with second sheet of pastry, cut hole in centre and pierce cover with fork.
  • Glaze with either egg or milk and bake in 200 degree oven for half to three-quarters of hour (until golden brown and skewer comes out clean).

The egg and bacon pie sounds fantastic. But my boys won’t eat eggs, so I’d be making it just for me, :-( Bet it’s good cold the day after. Hmmm, maybe if I make a half sized batch.
